Pokémon Sword is a role-playing game developed by Game Freak and published by Nintendo and The Pokémon Company for the Nintendo Switch console. Released on November 15, 2019, it is set in the Galar region, which is inspired by the United Kingdom. Players embark on a journey to become the Champion of the Galar region by challenging Gym Leaders and unraveling the mystery behind the Legendary Pokémon Zacian and Zamazenta. 
Key features of Pokémon Sword include:
•Starter Pokémon: At the beginning of their adventure, players choose one of three new partner Pokémon: Grookey (Grass-type), Scorbunny (Fire-type), or Sobble (Water-type). 
•Wild Area: A vast expanse of land in the Galar region where players can freely control the camera to explore and encounter a wide variety of Pokémon. The Pokémon found in the Wild Area change depending on factors like weather and location. 
•Dynamax and Gigantamax: New gameplay mechanics that allow Pokémon to temporarily grow in size and power during battles. Dynamaxing is available to many Pokémon, while Gigantamaxing is limited to specific Pokémon and grants them a unique appearance and powerful G-Max moves. 
•Max Raid Battles: Multiplayer co-op battles where up to four players can team up locally or online to face off against gigantic and super-strong Dynamax Pokémon. Certain Pokémon can even Gigantamax to gain a new look and a powerful set of G-Max moves. 
•Customization: Players can personalize their character’s appearance by choosing clothing and hairstyles, allowing for a unique look throughout the journey. 
•Pokémon Camp: A feature that lets players set up camp to play with their Pokémon and cook curry, which can strengthen the bond between the player and their Pokémon.
